Could be a good alternative to buying 'over' priced ones ???

I'd say it wouldn't work well.

Too many things need to be correct - the overall length, spring rate, valving, width of the mounting points, diameter of the mounting holes, etc...etc...

Especially because these are designed to be used in pairs there's little chance of these being an improvement over the correct OEM shock - no matter how poor it is.

Better to wait and spend the money to get the correct one set-up properly.

I think this site sells chinese stuff. Brand new öhlins are about 700€. For a pretty "stock" type. What we used here for racing is above 1000€.

So after numerous times of telling Amaya to lock her bike plus leaving the garage door open 2 days in a row (of which we have had tools stolen previously) I thought Id go and check that she has locked it at school.

Low and behold no disc lock or steering lock. So in front of everyone (outside the school door) I walked her bike down the road and parked it around the corner (no one stopped me or even battered an eye).

At lunch today she comes home and says ”someone tried to steel my bike today.” I said “did you lock it?” “Yes” she replied “the steering lock.” I said 'bullshit because I did it' she couldn't believe Id do it.. but the upside to this story is that I walked around to the garage, and found this..

So a lesson learned!!!

As I have no patience (Tora) lol

I got in contact with Olle who supply the stock shock for this bike. The chap answered back that he couldn't send me anything as it was all confidential by Piaggio.

So I sent him this drawing of the 125 and asked him to give me the figures from A to V....

and the good man did... so here they are below:

Piaggio sent me the specs for the shock, and I've already sent them to Öhlins.

Still very nice to have a second source.

I've just had a quote in from www.harris-performance.com

They can modify a S36HR1C1L shock ( this one seems to be fitted to a 250 ninja) and the price is £1050.00. From speaking to Ohlins were they going to make a complete custom one or look to modify one? would be good to know.

... nice to have a comparison for price and spec of these.
