Re: 2018 Aprilia RS4 50 Euro 4 Upgrade Project - Seat Cover

Post by Berkeley » Fri Nov 23, 2018 9:52 am

Today the Volcano seat cover arrived. The colours tie in well with the design , purchased on ebay for 109.00 euros.

First time doing it, took about 200 staples to do it , looked better when it was off the bike, some little crinkles appeared when fitting it.. 95% happy so leaving it at that.

Took the bike out for a test run .. the bike only goes up to 11k and 96 kmh.. 4 more than the 50cc. ... not too impressed .I'm thinking that the only way to get to 13k is if I put a 70cc exhaust on it as it's restricting it???? Currently its on 14/53 sprocket.
I'll adjust the fuel air mix to make sure that's all correct . The bike has more torque now.. just thought the performance would be a bit higher.

Is there any type of speed or RPM limiting done by the ignition?

Seems like something is holding it back.

My 75cc Derbi GPR with a 24mm Flatslide and an Arrow pipe with 14/42 gearing will run over 125 KPH (78 MPH) at about 12,000 RPMs (IIRC).

Don't think so,before could manage 12.5k ..just seems like the power peaks at 11k and you can't get anything more out of it. I was expecting 110kmh- 115 kmh.

Would the smaller exhaust be restricting it?? When i changed from the std exhaust to the race pipe It went from 9k to 12.5k?? This is why I'm thinking it this time.. the exhaust chamber is too small???? Just as guess though.

Are there any pipes by the same manufacturer that are listed as being for big bore engines?
If so, do they give any specs like pipe diameter?

A few weeks ago I did get in contact with JM with respect to getting a 70cc chamber and he thought that the tail pipe could still be used. He was going to check that it fitted the bike but never got back. I'll chase up and for the diameter... But yes they have pipes for bbk's.
I was looking through the posts and one of you guys mentioned a cheaper better pipe to get. Can you send the details again.
Cheers

So re-ordered the domino grips... Note to ones self.. do not cut the red band off the throttle grip.. only the clutch grip you can!!

Got these dust caps in from cream carbon for £9.99, but had to get them delivered to the UK and then france.

Re: 2018 Aprilia RS4 50 Euro 4 Upgrade Project - Ohlins Rear Shock

Post by Berkeley » Mon Nov 26, 2018 6:11 am

So looking at the ohlins shock the other day a link to shoppee came up for some 280mm shocks.

Image

These fit onto a Leganda but they have two of them.

The shocks are only 58.00 euros for the pair but with this site it seems like you have to have a number registered in malaysia to access the chat etc.

My thinking is that this pricing is only for asia hence cant access it .

I looked on the ohlins site but cant see any for a Yamaha Leganda, So either these are fake or the European site in english doesnt list them??

Even if i did manage to get them new springs would be needed as its only one, will check the eyelet hole as well for size. again trying to get the full spec of these .

If anyone has any thoughts on this then please input below.

Could be a good alternative to buying 'over' priced ones ???
