As for the reed, now thats true, on these small kits its propably not worth it, just on bigger ones. I had on big ones its really noticable, tried on small but thats not worth there. Malossi Vl6 reeds are pretty cheap, just bolt on and good to go. Pretty good performance too.
One year at the local moto show they brought a paddock of GP bikes. I took a massive amount of photos of the accessories on these bikes. Then went hunting them down—took a fair amount of effort too. Eventually I found the part numbers, and now you can find a many of these parts at Treats.



With the reeds you have to consider that it's not plug and play on the Derbi engines. With an AM6 like you have it's the same size as the KTM65 so it's easy peasy, and works well, but that's just not the case with the Derbi engine. Now I'm running them on some Derbis, and yes they are nice, but there's more effort, and more risk without any noticeable benefit over the Malossi setup to run them on a smaller kit.
