
In a tradition starting with Johann Zarco the Red Bull Rookies has introduced a strong cohort of junior racers into the paddock of MotoGP. This championship follows the the MotoGP championship through seven of the European races starting in Jerez, and ending in Aragon. Generally the youngsters race on the track during the down time adding excitement to the the weekend. To become a rookie the riders must first apply, and then be invited to tryout. Each season it's quite a prestigious selection, and this year is a boon for North America.
For 2019 the tryouts are being held in Spain at the Guadix Circuit on October 2nd through the 4th. Generally an international affair this year nine riders from this continent have been invited. Seven from the States, and two from Canada.
From America the young riders include
Gabriel Da Silva, Damian Jigalov, Brenden Ketelsen, Cody Kitchens , Rocco Landers, Tyler Scott, and Errol Sullivan. Hailing from Canada the two adolescent hopefuls are Jonathan Finn, and Mackenzie Weil.
