Love the KTM RC390 but it’s not quite sharp enough for you? Well you’re in luck as KTM have announced the RC390 R—a homologated, limited edition version that’s just a race kit away from Supersport 300 competition.

Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the RC390R has had a multitude of hardware upgrades to make it more suitable for track use. For a start, the R model gets tailor-made fully-adjustable WP suspension as well as a new top yoke and handlebar kit that allows for a more extreme racing position. It also gets folding brake and clutch levers, which flip out of the way in case you go for a trip down the road. The engine hasn’t been left out either, benefitting from a shorter intake trumpet that delivers a slightly wider power band. If this has left you all hot under the collar, then an RC390R can be yours for €8500 (UK pricing tbc). It doesn’t stop there of course—there’s a full blown race kit too!

Let's go racing—SSP300 race kit
The SSP300 Race Kit is a homologated race kit for Supersport 300 races that has over 230 individual parts to convert the RC390 from track day superstar to hardcore racer. The centrepiece of the kit is the full titanium Akrapovic EVO02 system with race ECU but it also includes an STM slipper clutch, quickshifter, wiring harness, spare wheels, gearing options, improved cooling system and a full bodywork kit. KTM are only producing 50 kits per year and it costs €11,000 (UK pricing tbc) but if you pop it on your Christmas list now, you’ve got almost 12 months to save up.
