Derbi de Mayo is our annual ride celebrating the great moto brand Derbi. As is our tradition this ride flows through the hills in the Mill Valley Mt. Tam area. This year’s ride will revisit some of our favorite roads, and as is the tradition will arrive at a San Francisco Taqueria for lunch.

This will be a decently paced ride so prep the bikes, lube up the chains, update the registrations, check the tires, and get that riding gear ready. Smaller (50~85cc) two stroke replicas like the Derbi GPR, and the Aprilia RS50 are very much encouraged. Fast mopeds (make sure your brakes work!), Scooters, Groms and such are okay!

Meet up Sunday May 5th at 10:30am, KSU at 11:00am.

We’ll meet up and gas up at the Chevron on Geary and Arguello. There will be additional gas stops along the way for the bikes that guzzle. Lunch will take place in San Francisco.

If you are looking for a Replica Racer check out the foro, and lets find one for you. If you still haven’t gotten your Replica Racer ready lets get on that, we can help you!

Route—this route is tentative.

I'll be celebrating Derbi De Mayo on Sunday as well with my GPR.

It's the spring Crud Run in Pine Bluff, Wi, and the Derbi always makes an appearance along with my buddy's Bultacos.

Making sure it's ready to roll, but if fired right up, and sounded good.

Intro
Another awesome ride through the hills! If you missed out there is another ride on the Nineteenth, and of course GPR Camp 4 in June!!

Meet up
As usually we do the meetup was at the Chevron on Geary near the pet hospital. This is a great place to fuel up and launch the ride into the Presidio.

Sausalito
Across the bridge and down to the beautiful town of Sausalito. Mostly this is just part of the ride we do to get to the twisties, but of course that doesn’t stop us from admiring the view.

Pan Toll Road
Panoramic is a gorgeous twisty road that feeds into HWY 1, but it also is the gateway to many other treasures in Marin. For instance at the top of Panoramic is the gate to Pan Toll Road. During some parts of the year this will actually be closed off, but most of the time it is open for people that enjoy going out into the nature. The first part of Pan Toll features some tight curvy action through the trees that then opens up into hills right out of the Sound of music. At the top there is a turn that feeds you into Ridgecrest.

Ridgecrest
Here the Sound of Music experience really opens up with vistas that exploit the best of our local coast line. Unfortunately the riding is so much fun that stopping for photos is usually asking too much! But here are a few from a view I like to call Kings Landing. Near the north end of Ridgecrest it is back into the trees, and you need to slow down because the rode is generally in poor condition. Still It is rather gorgeous as you make your way to Bolinis Fairfax.

Bo-Fax
The Bolinis Fairfax connector is one of my favorite roads in the area. It takes a bit of learning to ride it, and many riders have found theirselves kissing the pavement—so take it slow until you get the hang of it. Once you do you’ll be hooked. This is the location of most of our infamous gravity races. :scream_cat:

TwentyOne Corners/Bo-Fax
At the bottom of the west side of Bo-Fax is HWY 1. If you head south from here you’ll enjoy the ever flowing TwentyOne Corners all the way into Stinson Beach. TwentyOne Corners was recently repaved, and it is smoother than a go kart track. It is amazing how much fun it is to wind through this beautiful costal section of road.

HWY 1
Coming out of Stinson Beach is another section of flowing curves. Many a large motorcycle has been put to shame by little Replicas on this patch of road. Much like TwentyOne corners there’s plenty of fresh new pavement to sink your rubber into as you carve your way up and down the hills along the coast.

7/11
Coming out of the twisties you’ll find the 7/11. This is a great place to grab a frosty beverage before you head for the Golden Gate. We had a truly excellent ride today. We’ll be back out here for GPR Camp 4 when we will be lucky enough to spend nearly four days riding and camping through these hills!! :paw_prints:
