Pipes

Here are a number of pipes to consider, depending on what kit/carb/etc system you develop/design.

Metrakit Pro Race 3—This is one of the best pipes available. the Vocal might be a little bit better.



Voca—This is for the TZR, but they use an AM6 so it would work on your bike. Might need a little effort, but these are very nice pipes.



Yasuni R3—a decent mid pipe. Probably a little more powerful than the Arrow.



Yasuni R3 Carrera—same pipe with the carbon silencer.



SCR Corse Racing Line—SCR make some very nice pipes. This one is their just starting to be a good pipe. But you can see from the header that it's not their best pipe line.

There are basically two different carbs I would suggest. The Polini CP 21 if you are going for a mid power setup, or the Polini PWK 24 if you are going for a more powerful setup. You'll want to get the cable choke version, and you'll need to get a cable setup for it too, because the RS doesn't come with one. There are many options there.

Polini CP(at Treats)—These are very nice carbs. Very similar to the Dellorto PHBG, but seem to be a little bit nicer in performance. The 21mm is good for most 70/80cc top ends, this carb also comes in a 23mm (at Treats) which would be a nice compromise between the 21 and going with the PWK model.



Accessories for the CP
You'll want to get the upgraded float bowl (at Treats) for changing out the main jet. I real boon for tuning.



If you decide to source an air box you'll need this adaptor (at Treats).



Polini PWK 24—A number of companies are making versions of this carb these days. This version is one of the bests. I think the only one that makes it better was MetraKit, and if you can find one of those they are worth it. Still the Polini is a nice carb. I have both. If you go for the air box you'll need an adapter for this too, but I don't currently see one. You might be able to mod the one for the CP.



Accessories for the PWK

The PWK that they have at Treats doesn't have the cable choke adaptor. You'll want one of these. Same thing at Maxi.

Main Jet Set Polini—You'll need some main jets too. These will work in both of the carbs I've suggested. You'll probably need a range from 100 to 138, so get the two kits that cover that combined range. (At Treats 100-118, 120-138



MotoForce high flow Fuel Filter—To ensure enough fuel get's to the carb a better fuel filter is necessary. This one is nice because you can clean it. At Treats get this one in Red for high flow.



If you don't go for the air box you'll need a filter. The Polini high flow air filter is very nice.



Choke Cables
A number of solutions for these. The Stage6 is pretty cool, and it comes in two cable lengths. Polini(Polini kit with cable from Maxi), and Malossi also have similar solutions. Treats has the Malossi in stock, but you do have to source the cable separately.



Domino makes one that you can mount on the handle bar. You'll have to source a cable for this one. RMS has a similar unit.

For this bike, and riding around here by far the best tire choice are the Sava Mitas MC18s. These tires are amazing, and made for these sorts of bikes. Front/Rear

This is the chain I run on the 05. It's the nice one they have at Treats: ER 420NZ3

If you don't want to spend that kind of money on a chain this one is a nice option: EK SILVER 420

You'll need to put some fresh oil in the tranny. The Motul expert transoil is the way to go with these bikes.

There are a wide range of top end kits available for this bike. I'm only going to post kits that work with the stock stroke. If you want to go beyond that then you'll need different parts for the carb, and pipe too—pretty much everything changes when you go to those kits!

By far one of the best values is the new Stage6 Big Racing 77cc kits. They have been nearly impossible to get, but Maxi is saying available in 12 weeks. If you can wait this would probably be the best kit for what you are talking about doing with your bike. If you get this one then get the 24mm PWK carb, and ether the MetraKit or the Vocal pipe.





The Top Performances Rose 70cc cast iron kit is a decent kit. This is probably the lowest level I would get for the bike. This one has the modular head, which cools better. But this kit is cast iron, and I'm not really a big fan of cast iron because it's heavy. Still Top makes nice product, and if you got it you would probably be pretty happy with it. If you go with this one get the 21mm CP carb. Any of the above listed pipes will be fine.



The Metrakit Pro Race 3 70cc is one of the best kits available in this class. It has a modular head, and is a proven top end. If you get this one then make sure you get the MetraKit pipe. The other pipes wont work with this top end, although you might be able to get adaptors for them. Also go with the 24mm PWK carb.



The Top Performances TPR 80cc aluminum kit is a nice step up from the Rose. It's has a larger barrel, modular head, and it is aluminum. Ed has one of these on his bike.



The Polini Alu Race 79cc kit probably wouldn't be my choice, but it is a nice kit. It does have two rings, so if I had it I would probably only run the top one. It is an aluminum kit so it will cool nicely. This kit would work well with the 21mm CP carb, and any of the pipes listed above.



The 2Fast 70cc kit is by far the most expensive. They have been blowing people away with their technology. This is probably the most powerful kit you can put on the stock stroke. I would seriously consider putting in a better crank, and bearings with this kit. That's not a bad idea to do with any of these kits, but you really want to do it with this one. To get the best performance out of it you'll have to case match too. It's nice to do with any kit, but in this case it's even more important. 2Fast also makes a 100cc kit, but that's going to require lots and lots of upgrades for your bike to support. This kit would require one of the better pipes—ether the Metra or Voca, and the 24mm PWK carb.




Bidalot makes a lot of nice stuff for this engine including some of the larger sizes, however their Replica 70cc is both quite nice, affordable, and accommodates the stock stroke length. This kit would work well with the 21mm CP, and any of the pipes listed above.

With any of the aggressive kits you'll need to go pre-mix. Anything with the 24mm should be pre-mixed, and anything that is going to rev beyond 11K at an extended length should go pre-mix.

This means removing the oil pump (which you need to do or it will burn out). It's simple enough. Just remove the pump, and replace it with one of these plates. There are a number of different ones—the Voca come is black, and red.

The moment you add something to this bike to get it to deliver more power than stock you have to upgrade the clutch. You can start out with just springs, and for the stuff I've listed above a disc pack with springs should be okay.

If you really push the power though you probably should consider one of the serious clutch upgrades—which basically bring it up to stock Derbi levels.

Bidalot Racing Factory Primary Transmission—This is the top level clutch for the AM6, which brings it up to the Derbi level. Now you get five springs, a Derbi pressure plate, and six discs!
