Re: Wayward 2003 GPR
Finally got to the task of adding a mounting flange to the pipe. I have been dreading this since the get go. I'm not that good at brazing. I'm lucky that my wife has a jewelers torch - propane and oxygen. And this was on the limit for what it can do. Fingers crossed.

Re: Wayward 2003 GPR
It’s been a hot minute. But I thought I’d update the group on my status.
First off, it runs! Still need to get it idling but it feels strong all the way up to 11,000. I’m so excited!
Also finishing up the paint. Changed direction and went white. 2 coats of color, sand to 1000 between coats. Then sand 2000 and 3000 before clear coat. The MAX 2K is amazing, and fire safe. Can not be happier. Next is getting the decals ordered, so stay tuned.

The engine is turning great
You are doing a great job with it
Can't wait to see it completed

Re: Wayward 2003 GPR
Some end of season thoughts…
Didn’t get the bike on the road anywhere near when I wanted to - lots of around the house projects, and building a green house took most of the summer.
But WOW! This this is amazing!
She doesn’t start making power until around 7,000 RPMs. Then just keeps pulling. I’m trying to keep her under 10,000 RPMs until we get a couple of heat cycles. But it’s apparent she will keep pulling well above 10,000. So looking forward to spring.
Current setup:
Airsal Extream 80cc kit
SCR Corse Racing Line pipe
Dellroto PHBG 21 carb
96 Main Jet
262 AU Needle Jet
50 Idle Jet
60 Starter Jet
40 Slide
W7 Needle 2nd slot from the top
PreMix 32:1
Pump 94 Octane
NGK B10 ES Plug
Plug Gap 0.020 / 0.508mm
And we have a couple of projects for winter. She is very hard to start with the starter. To the point I need to use a jump pack. And even then it’s a challenge. But she bump-starts with no problem. She also wont shut off when I hit the kill switch, or turn the key off. So I ether have an electric problem, or the CDI or Stator has left the chat.
I’ll do a bench test of the CDI before ordering a new one. And the harness will get re-built with fresh connectors, and new covering.

Re: Wayward 2003 GPR
Excellent question. I found the images on line, and converted them int PDFs. Then sent them off to a vinyl cutter - I found them on Etsy. Had them in a couple of days. The small logos on the bottom are 5in long, the big Derbi is 13in, and the tank Derbi is 6in.
Happy to share the files if anyone else needs them.

Re: Wayward 2003 GPR
It’s cold now, so thoughts turn to winter projects. So I thought a couple of photos might be fun.
Couple of areas to tidy up over winter. And some polishing to do! What does everyone think?
