Great knee down
This is his first season on a track, but he's wanted to do it for years. His buddy with the CR85 has raced and done pretty well, and he has his lap times beat by a significant amount.
Probably enter a race or 2 next year.

Current state of the CRF150R -
Getting a new crank and high compression piston. Bore and cam look great.
These are tough little engines. It didn't have much maintenance before we got it, but after some TLC it's been strong.
This work is mostly preventative maintenance. It spends most of its time near the rev limiter.

Love that cylindrical roller bearing on the ignition side. Im using the same method. I experienced longer crankshaft lifespan, but a bit more friction.
What is your experience with them?

No experience really.
This is the first major rebuild for both myself and my son.
Durability is our major concern. Good oil (Mobil 1 4T), changed regularly, or sooner, to keep everything moving along smoothly!

Got the bottom-end together this weekend -
Waiting for the high compression piston to arrive, then we should be able to finish it up.
