Hey all -

Okay, Hey ToraTora -

I got a GPR this weekend. The guy couldn't get it started so he passed it on to me (he even drove it down from San Tan to Tucson (or his dad did).

Took the plastics off( Mostly). If I'm going to keep it:

Want a better quarter fairing option.
Fork Seals (right side weeps now that I rode it)
rear shock feels utterly undamped (280mm shock suggestions?)

There will be more.

Maybe pictures if I figure a way to import images from Google Photos.

Super cool!

I made a post about how to post images. ;)

Or you can use the image tag if you host your images on another site. Just click on the Image icon, and two image tags will show up. If the image is online you can right click on it in most browsers and copy the image address. Paste the address between image tags.

Code: Select all

Fork seals
In my Track bike thread there is a post on Showa forks including the All Balls part numbers.

Shocks
I need to make a post about those. There are some options out there, but nothing super perfect. The best thing I've found so far is the Risse coil over shock. They don't list it in their current products, but they made a number of them for the GPR so they have the specs to assemble one. It looks like this:

Farings
There are some options there too. What have you seen that you like on other bikes?

While not on a GPR, I have searched for a good option for rear shock on my RS50s.
I settled on a shock from Taiwan - http://www.adrenalin-pedstop.co.uk/
This is a fully adjustable, remote reservoir shocks, and it's been AWESOME, totally changing the characteristics of the rear end on my 50s.

I have the same brand rear shock on my son's Ohvale GP-0, and it works really well.

Hey Fear,

How's the bike looking now that you've removed the plastics? Did you get your suspension sorted?
