Yeah I was just curious as an Aprilia RSA 125 runs a 190 degree exhaust duration. I guess they have a lot of port width also. I was looking at the photo of your cylinder porting of the aux exhaust ports as inspiration. They look really nice and I've marked out my cylinder to do the same, albeit a little less wide. If I like the outcome will remark and add a few more mm of width, though I have to be careful as the water jacket is not far away!

I wouldn't consider the RSA for an example. They can be made way better.

Make sure to DO NOT widen the support ports too much. Mark out the pin hole on the piston where it is at the wall. From there leave out 1.5-2mm. That will be the edge of the support ports.
If you look at my cylinder then you can notice that this is the max width that we can get out of this safely.

That is good to know. I think I have my ports stopping 4 or 5mm from the pin edge. The pin is a 14mm one.

Mine too. The edge of the port is 2mm apart. I wouldn't go closer. There is a huge performance drop is you open It into the pin

I've spoke with the TRTeam and I ordered a 2fast piston from them. Probably the best option availabe right now.
The only thing that I cannot find an answer is why they sell an uncoated piston. Maxiscoot and Scootfast sells them with a grey "grafite" coating or some sort of coating. As it seems 2fast sells different type of piston?

Friday Ive received the piston.

Its truly a piece of an art, I'm really pleased with the quality of it. Really awesome one.
I will receive the crankshaft 3-4weeks later from now. Things are coming together!

RMP SM Project—Rieju MRT Pro: Progress

Post by kaldis12 » Tue Sep 29, 2020 12:20 pm

Hey guys,

I've been gone for quiet a long time, but I'm back with fresh news.

Things have been picking up the revs lately finally,
Image

I've got my custom crankshafts.
CNC machined conrod for 17x17x14 small end bearing
and most importantly, bigger crankwebs.
► Show Spoiler
I've got the custom cylinder risers, might have to play around with them for a nice port duration
► Show Spoiler
But still the most important part might be the clutch, I'am currently working on them, but they will be done pretty soon.
Lightened it out for a smaller inertia, machining to fit is still left to do.
This is a Derbi Euro 2 clutch kit, its mostly good because of the smaller diameter, thicker clutchplates and the best thing about it is might be the straight teeth basket.
Less pulling force on the crankshaft and a bit better power transmission.

Bought a Bosch PAD 12v Brushless waterpump for a nice and reliable waterflow. (Honestly I was just too lazy to design the waterpump gear)

In overall, most of the things are done. I just need to machine the clutch and to make a combustion chamber and I am ready for a first start :D

Kaldis, that's just awesome!! I'm almost afraid to ask how much did that custom crank cost you :secret:

Since I designed the crank myself, it cut down the price by a pretty considerable amount of money :D

The machining of the crankcase was a bit harder though, but still good enough.

Wow that is nice! Nothing like a custom crank!
