GPR Camp: Replica Racers

For my Adventure Japan trip I picked up this 2012 (2011 model year) Red Rocket. While it was used it only had 520 Kilometers on it. This is one of the last GPRs made. Derbi did make an all black GPR livery with the same chassis, but my bike had to be red.

Currently the bike is in Yamanashi waiting for the many upgrades, and then the adventure will begin.

The upgrades in the works for this bike are fairly extensive, and will include suspension, brakes, engine, tires, and maybe some extra fun stuff too.

Here are photos of the bike as posted on GooBike by the Moto-shop in Sendai Japan. Apexmoto was able to effect a transfer to their Moto-shop in Yamanashi via AucNet. This worked out quite well as they were able to get the bike shipped nearly 500KM for around only $90!!

Made it over to Treatland today to pick up the Malossi forks, and the Polini PWK 28mm carb. Thanks so much for the special order action Benji!!

It's a totally gorgeous day in San Francisco today. Am I out riding? Well I probably should be, but I'm at home waiting with anticipations!!

The TRT 2Fast arrived today. Truly gorgeous. These photos don't do it justice, but don't fear when I do the build next month I'll make sure to reveal their true glory. For now though you can get a taste.

A nice package of goodies from KurveyGirl showed up today. Inside the box was the Brembo RCS14 front master, a Brembo reservoir, and some fancy black angled tire valves. One of the really cool things about Kurvey is that they include a tygon hose, a titanium banjo bolt, and crush washers. Since the RCS come with an included brake light switch this is pretty much a turn key package.

Because I'll be modifying the engine I ordered two sets of gaskets from EasyParts. I also thought it might be a good idea to carry a water pump repair kit—just incase.

A quick visit to TreatLand to get some parts including tires, sprockets, and a throttle cable. Thanks Benji!!
