Rear Brake Cylinder Replacement

Post by al_pritchard » Fri Sep 30, 2022 7:31 am

Does anyone have any recommendations on a replacement rear master cylinder? I cant find any reasonable OEM ones on line. So starting to think about an upgrade.

I've been trying to get this one to lead for over a week. Went away for a work event, and came back to see just a little fluid leaking out of the top of the one I have. At least now I know why I couldn't lead the one I have. :disappointed:

You can just see a little fluid at the base of the L joint. And unfortunately it's not leaking out of the hose.

Is it leaking around the rubber grommet?

Any way to replace just that part?

Yea, its leaking around the grommet. Cant find that part anywhere.

Was hopping someone could point me to a direct replacement. Most of the options I see have the brake line attaching to the back of the master cylinder. The original one on the bike has the brake hose attaching to the left side.

I was thinking you may be able to match-up a grommet from an industrial supplier, or maybe even a hardware store, that may work.

Al, search for Piaggio part number PI-00D01100181. This one also fits to pre-2005 Derbi Senda.

Here's one: https://en.50factory.com/parts%20news/2 ... -beta.html
Was hoping not to order from overseas. Shipping can be almost the cost of the master cylinder.

I did find this: Brembo PS13B. It was offered on the Cagiva Mito that shipped in the early 2000s. But it has the brake line mounting on the top of the cylinder, not the side. But I may not have any other choice.
