Another Master Cylinder Post

Post by grunbay » Sun Oct 21, 2018 4:31 pm

I have looked over Tora's excellent "Stop that man" post, but I don't see on the site whether the Brembo RCS14 is appropriate for the 2-piston AJP caliper. I have looked over the hydraulic ratio information available and it looks to me that the ratio is a bit low (I get 9.2). But, the ratios get a bit wonky when dealing with a two-piston slider caliper.

Has anyone successfully used the Brembo RCS14 in combination with the AJP 2-piston slider caliper?

Yeah that post is rather dated as it was written many years ago before any of us started experimenting with the RCS. We did put an RCS14 on MT Mike’s 2002 Derbi track bike. So far he's been very happy with it. Says it's better than most of his other bikes.

The thing about most of those charts is that they don't relay the displacement of the caliper pistons. They just count the number of them. I think the stock master on the older GPRs is a 12, so the 14 is a little on the hard side, but because it is such a much nicer master over all there is a significant improvement.

RCS 14 is the BEST upgrade I've ever made to my RS50.
